What is the difference between mutual agreement and contested proceedings?

In a mutual agreement, both parties agree on a settlement agreement; it is faster, more economical and less draining. The contested procedure follows when there is no agreement and the judge decides. Whenever possible, we help you reach an agreement.

What does the settlement agreement include?

Usually custody and contact arrangements, the use of the family home, child maintenance and, where applicable, spousal maintenance, and the division of assets. We draft it tailored to you.

Can joint custody be established?

Yes, it is increasingly common where it serves the best interests of the child. We analyse your situation and advise you on the most suitable form of custody and how to put it forward.

Can the measures be varied later on?
